The Hikvision iDS-7208HQHI-M1/XT combines eight analogue camera inputs with AcuSense deep-learning functions designed to reduce less useful motion events and make important footage easier to find. It is particularly well suited to homes, shops and businesses upgrading an existing coaxial CCTV installation.

Along with HDTVI, AHD, HDCVI and CVBS cameras, the recorder can incorporate compatible IP cameras. AcuSearch, human and vehicle classification, facial recognition and perimeter protection provide considerably more useful event handling than a basic DVR, while H.265 Pro+ compression helps make better use of available hard-drive capacity.

• The recorder has 8 physical analogue BNC camera inputs.
• Compatible IP cameras up to 6MP are supported, with expanded IP configurations supporting up to 12 network-camera channels. Expanded IP mode may affect availability of certain smart functions depending on configuration.
• Face picture comparison, Motion Detection 2.0 and perimeter protection cannot all operate simultaneously. Enabling one of these analysis modes makes the other two unavailable.
• One internal SATA interface supports a surveillance hard drive up to 10TB. A hard drive is required for local recording and is sold separately.
• An Ethernet network connection is required for Hik-Connect and other network functions. Wi-Fi connectivity requires a compatible USB Wi-Fi dongle.
• The DVR requires 12 V DC, 1.5 A power.
