TP-Link MC220L Gigabit SFP Media Converter for Copper-to-Fibre Network Links

The TP-Link MC220L provides a straightforward way to convert between 10/100/1000Mbps copper Ethernet and a Gigabit fibre connection. It is useful when a network link needs to run over fibre between buildings, remote network points or other locations where conventional Ethernet cable is unsuitable.

The SFP slot allows the fibre interface to be selected according to the installation rather than locking the converter to one fibre type or distance. The actual wavelength and maximum fibre distance therefore depend on the SFP module fitted.

Choose the MC220L when you need to convert a standard RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet connection to a 1000BASE-X fibre link.
It can be used with suitable single-mode or multi-mode SFP modules, allowing the optical side to be matched to the installed fibre.

Before You Buy

The MC220L has an SFP slot; the required SFP module must be selected separately according to the fibre type, wavelength and required transmission distance.
The fibre connection uses the connector provided by the installed SFP module. TP-Link specifies the converter for single-mode or multi-mode fibre through a suitable SFP.
Maximum fibre transmission distance is not fixed by the MC220L itself and depends on the SFP module used.
The RJ45 connection supports Ethernet cable runs up to 100m when the appropriate cable type is used.
An external power adapter is supplied with the converter.
