The TP-Link MC200CM provides a straightforward way to bridge a Gigabit copper Ethernet connection and a 1000BASE-SX multi-mode fibre link. It is useful where an Ethernet network needs to extend beyond the normal 100m copper-cable limit.

Its SC/UPC fibre interface operates at 850nm and supports multi-mode fibre distances of up to 550m with 50/125µm fibre, while the Gigabit RJ45 connection automatically handles MDI/MDIX.

  • The RJ45 side supports Category 5 or Category 5e UTP cable up to 100m, or compatible EIA/TIA-568 100Ω STP.
  • The converter uses an external power adapter and has a maximum power consumption of 1.66W.
  • A TP-Link TL-MC1400 chassis is optional and is not required for standalone operation.
