GENATA GNT-P4804F6 8-Port Outdoor AI PoE Switch | 120 W

R2,427.00 Incl. VAT

The GENATA GNT-P4804F6 is an outdoor water-resistant PoE switch for connecting and powering IP cameras and other compatible network devices near their installation point. It combines eight PoE ports, a built-in 120 W power supply and copper or fibre uplink options.

  • Six 10/100 Mbps PoE+ ports support up to 30 W per port, while two 10/100/1000 Mbps PoE++ ports support up to 60 W per port.
  • Two Gigabit RJ45 uplink ports and one Gigabit SFP slot provide connection options for the wider network.
  • AI Watchdog on all eight PoE ports detects unresponsive powered devices and can restart them automatically.
  • Up to 130 m copper transmission distance, subject to suitable cabling and installation conditions.
  • 6 kV lightning-surge protection and 8 kV ESD protection, with an operating temperature range of -30 °C to +60 °C.
  • Wall or pole mounting, with an AC power cable, mounting hardware and protective cable-entry pipes included.

Description

GENATA GNT-P4804F6 Outdoor PoE Switch with Two 60 W Gigabit PoE++ Ports

The GENATA GNT-P4804F6 brings eight powered network connections to a wall or pole close to the cameras or other PoE equipment they serve. Its outdoor water-resistant enclosure contains the switch and mains power supply, while copper and SFP uplink connections provide a route back to the wider network. This lets you build a local connection point instead of routing every device cable all the way back to a central switch.

The important distinction is the mix of ports. Ports 1–6 operate at 10/100 Mbps and supply up to 30 W each for compatible PoE+ equipment. Ports 7–8 support 10/100/1000 Mbps and up to 60 W each, providing higher-power IEEE 802.3bt connections for devices whose requirements exceed ordinary PoE+. Reserve these two ports for equipment that needs the extra power or Gigabit link speed: this is not an all-Gigabit eight-port PoE switch.

The built-in supply is rated at 120 W in total. The individual port ratings describe each port’s maximum, not an amount that can be drawn from every port at once. Plan the combined load with allowance for the switch itself and cable losses, rather than treating two 60 W ports as spare capacity on top of six fully loaded 30 W ports.

Copper or fibre back to the network

Two 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 uplink ports provide copper connection options, while the Gigabit SFP slot allows a fibre uplink with an appropriate transceiver and fibre cable. The uplink can therefore be selected to suit the cable route and the network equipment at the other end. A Gigabit uplink does not change the 100 Mbps speed limit of PoE ports 1–6.

Copper transmission is specified at up to 130 m. Cable quality, termination, device demand and installation conditions must be considered when planning the run; the maximum distance should not be treated as a guarantee for every cable and connected load.

Automatic recovery when a powered device stops responding

AI Watchdog monitors PoE ports 1–8 and can restart an unresponsive connected device by cycling its PoE power. For a camera that has stopped responding, this can restore operation without someone first reaching the switch to disconnect its cable. The AI function here is device monitoring and recovery, rather than video analytics. The switch is unmanaged, so normal switching operation does not require a management interface to be configured.

Choose a mounting point with mains power available

The GNT-P4804F6 requires a 90–240 V AC supply at its installation point; it is not powered through an upstream PoE connection. Its integrated supply avoids the need for a separate external power adaptor. Wall-mounting fittings and steel pole-mounting bands are included, together with protective cable-entry pipes. Route and protect the cables correctly, then close and secure the cover after installation.

The switch operates from -30 °C to +60 °C and includes 6 kV lightning-surge protection and 8 kV electrostatic discharge protection. These are protective features, not a guarantee against a direct lightning strike. The enclosure and cable entries still need to be installed correctly for outdoor use.
