The Zartek TX-2 twin pack provides two compact rechargeable radios for straightforward push-to-talk communication at home, outdoors, at events or between team members. The radios operate at 500 mW on the licence-free 446 MHz UHF band, so no airtime or cellular connection is required.

With 16 pre-programmed channels, USB-C charging, VOX capability and long typical battery operation, the TX-2 is designed to be easy to carry and simple to use while still offering useful programmable functions for more advanced requirements.

Radio range is highly dependent on the surroundings. Buildings, hills, dense vegetation, vehicles and other obstructions can substantially reduce communication distance, so the manufacturer’s maximum line-of-sight figures should not be treated as guaranteed operating range.

Before You Buy

The TX-2 operates on the 446 MHz UHF licence-free band at 500 mW. Other radios must use the same frequency and matching CTCSS or DCS tone settings to communicate correctly.

The TX-2 is factory programmed for direct communication on its first 11 channels with compatible Zartek TX-8, ZA-720, ZA-721, ZA-723, ZA-748, ZA-725 and ZA-758 radios. Different channel configurations may require programming before the radios will communicate.

PC programming is optional. The Zartek GE-254 USB programming cable is required when changing programmable settings by computer and is sold separately.

Zartek specifies approximate ranges of 2–6 km outdoors and 10–30 km from an elevated line-of-sight position. Terrain, buildings, vehicles, vegetation and other obstructions can substantially reduce these figures.

A USB mains adaptor is not listed among the included items. Use an appropriate USB power source for charging.
