Description
TP-Link Deco X55 AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 Mesh System – choose the right TP-DECOX55 pack for your property
The TP-Link Deco X55 combines Wi-Fi 6 performance with TP-Link’s mesh technology to create one unified wireless network across your home or small office. Devices can move between Deco units while staying on the same Wi-Fi network, reducing the need to manually switch between separate access points.
Choose from one, two or three Deco X55 units depending on the area you need to cover. Each unit also has three Gigabit Ethernet ports, allowing wired devices or Ethernet backhaul to be incorporated where suitable cabling is available.
Choose the Right Option
| Pack Size | Manufacturer Coverage |
|---|---|
| 1-Pack – TP-DECOX55-1P | Up to approximately 232 m² |
| 2-Pack – TP-DECOX55-2P | Up to approximately 418 m² |
| 3-Pack – TP-DECOX55-3P | Up to approximately 604 m² |
The coverage figures above are conversions of TP-Link’s published maximums of 2,500, 4,500 and 6,500 ft² respectively. Actual coverage varies with walls, floors, building materials, interference, unit placement and connected devices.
- 1-Pack: A practical choice for a smaller property, a targeted Wi-Fi improvement or adding another Deco unit to an existing compatible Deco network.
- 2-Pack: Suits larger homes where placing a second unit can extend coverage between different areas or floors.
- 3-Pack: Provides the greatest coverage flexibility for larger or more difficult layouts where additional mesh nodes are needed.
Is This Right for You?
- Suitable when you want one Wi-Fi network across multiple rooms instead of separate extender network names.
- Useful for households with numerous phones, computers, TVs, smart-home products and other connected devices.
- Supports both Router Mode and Access Point Mode, allowing the Deco system to act as the main router or operate behind suitable existing networking equipment.
- All Deco models can work together in a Deco mesh network, making it possible to expand an existing compatible Deco installation.
How It Works
One Deco connects to your internet equipment by Ethernet and becomes part of the Deco mesh. Additional units communicate through the mesh to extend the same network around the property. Deco X55 also supports optional Ethernet backhaul, allowing suitable network cabling to link Deco units where a wired connection is preferred.
Why Choose This Product?
- Faster Wi-Fi 6 connectivity: AX3000 dual-band performance provides up to 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz for compatible devices.
- One network throughout the property: TP-Link Mesh technology lets Deco units operate as a unified Wi-Fi network rather than separate access points with different network names.
- Flexible wired connectivity: Each Deco X55 has three Gigabit WAN/LAN auto-sensing ports for internet connectivity, wired clients or Ethernet backhaul.
- Designed for busy connected homes: OFDMA, 2×2 MU-MIMO and four Wi-Fi streams improve network efficiency when multiple compatible devices are active.
- Centralised app management: The Deco app handles setup and day-to-day network management, while HomeShield provides supported security, parental-control and QoS functions.
- Expandable later: Additional compatible Deco models can be added if your coverage requirements change.
Before You Buy
- An Ethernet connection to your existing internet service equipment is required when setting up the main Deco unit.
- Maximum wireless rates are theoretical physical-layer rates. Actual internet and local network performance depend on your internet connection, client devices, interference, network traffic and installation environment.
- Wi-Fi 6 features including OFDMA, MU-MIMO, 1024-QAM and HE160 require compatible client devices to obtain the associated benefits.
- Seamless roaming performance also depends on client-device support for the relevant roaming standards.
- Ethernet backhaul is supported, but any additional network cabling required for your installation is sold separately.
- TP-Link HomeShield includes a Basic plan; additional HomeShield services may require a paid subscription.
