Description

Nemtek EE-NC4G/1Y Connect 4G LTE Gateway for Remote Electric Fence Management

The Nemtek EE-NC4G/1Y Connect Device Gateway links a compatible Nemtek electric fence energizer to the Nemtek Connect platform over the mobile network. Once configured, authorised users can monitor and control supported energizer functions from the Nemtek Connect App instead of having to be physically at the energizer.

This 1-year version is suitable for homes, complexes, farms, commercial properties and larger multi-site installations where remote fence status, alerts and system management can make day-to-day monitoring easier.

How It Works

The Connect 4G gateway is installed inside a compatible Nemtek energizer and communicates with the energizer through the appropriate Nemtek interface. The gateway then connects to the Nemtek Connect platform using 4G LTE, with 2G GSM/GPRS support.

After the energizer has been added and authenticated in the Nemtek Connect App, available functions can be accessed remotely. The exact controls and information shown depend on the connected energizer model.

Why Choose This Product?

  • Remote monitoring and control: View supported fence and energizer status information and switch the energizer on or off remotely.
  • Remote programming: Compatible energizers can support programming and management functions through the Nemtek Connect platform.
  • Useful real-time alerts: Supported systems can report conditions including fence faults, voltage drops, tampering and power-related problems.
  • History and performance information: Detailed event timelines and fence performance information can help identify recurring problems and speed up troubleshooting.
  • Multi-site management: Manage multiple connected energizers and sites from one Nemtek Connect account.
  • Multi-user access: Nemtek Connect supports multiple users with role-based permissions for administrators, technicians and other authorised users.
  • Panic integration: Supported configurations can link the app’s panic function to an alarm company. Availability depends on the energizer and system setup.

Before You Buy

Nemtek’s current Connect brochure lists support for the Wizord 2i, Wizord 4i, Merlin 4i, Merlin Stealth 18, Merlin Stealth 28, Druid 13LCD, Druid 15LCD, Druid 18LCD, Druid 25LCD, Druid 28LCD, Druid 114 and Agri 80, 150 and 200 energizers.

  • Feature availability varies according to the energizer. Nemtek specifically states that the Druid 25LCD and Druid 28LCD support the full published Nemtek Connect feature set.
  • Wizord energizers manufactured before 2019 may require a hardware update.
  • The gateway mounts inside the supported energizer enclosure rather than operating as a separate external control box.
  • This EE-NC4G/1Y SKU is the 1-year connectivity version.
  • An external Nano SIM can be used where required. The user must provide sufficient data or airtime and manually configure the network APN.
  • When an external SIM is installed, it takes priority over the gateway’s chip SIM and there is no automatic switch back to the chip SIM.
  • Installation requires access inside the energizer enclosure. Follow the Nemtek installation instructions carefully; Nemtek specifically requires Agri-series installation to be performed by licensed, trained and certified professionals.

In South Africa, an Electric Fence Certificate of Compliance (COC) is a mandatory document proving an electric fence installation meets safety regulations outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 and SANS 10222-3.

What it is:

  • An Electric Fence COC is an official document that certifies an electric fence installation is compliant with South African regulations.
  • It ensures the fence is installed and maintained safely, preventing potential harm to people or animals.
  • The COC is required for new installations, alterations, or when selling a property with an electric fence.

Why it's needed:

  • Safety:

Ensures the electric fence is installed correctly and safely, preventing potential shocks or injuries.

  • Legal Compliance:

The Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act No. 85 of 1993) and SANS 10222-3: Electric Security Fencing Part 3 govern the requirements for electric fence installations.

  • Property Transactions:

A COC is required when selling a property with an electric fence, demonstrating to potential buyers that the fence is safe and compliant.

  • Liability:

Without a valid COC, property owners could face legal and financial consequences if an injury or incident occurs due to a non-compliant electric fence.

Who needs it:

  • Property owners with electric fences, especially after October 1, 2012, when the regulations were updated.
  • Anyone who alters or upgrades an existing electric fence after October 1, 2012.
  • Property owners selling a property with an electric fence.

How to obtain a COC:

For residents and businesses based in Johannesburg, contact Stemar Security Systems for Electric Fence Installations, Repairs and Compliance Certificates.

  • A registered and qualified electric fence installer must inspect the electric fence and issue the COC.
  • The installer needs to have completed a registered EWSETA approved course to be qualified to issue a COC.
  • You can find registered installers through organizations like Nemtek Training Academy or Stafix Electric Fence Centres.

Key points to remember:

  • An electric fence COC is a separate requirement from an electrical compliance certificate.
  • Property owners should ensure they have a valid COC for their electric fence to avoid legal and financial risks.
  • If you are unsure about the requirements or need to obtain a COC, contact a registered electric fence installer.
