Ajax LightCore 1-Gang 83427.142.NC – Smart Switching Core for One Lighting Circuit

The Ajax LightCore 1-Gang Jeweller is the electronic relay that forms the working core of a single-circuit Ajax LightSwitch. It connects to the lighting circuit and, once paired with a compatible SoloButton 1-Gang, provides convenient touch control at the wall together with remote control, timers and automation through a compatible Ajax system.

The modular design lets you choose the visible SoloButton colour separately. The LightCore uses the European type 55 mounting format, so a standard South African 100 × 50 mm / 4 × 2 wall box requires the IoT 4 × 2 Wall Box Installation Adapter.

If you already have a compatible SoloButton 1-Gang and suitable type 55 mounting arrangement, the LightCore can be purchased on its own. Otherwise, add the required touch panel and wall-box adapter when completing your installation.

How It Works

The LightCore connects to the power phase and the lighting load. It does not require a neutral conductor at the switch position, making it particularly useful when upgrading many existing light-switch installations.

A compatible SoloButton 1-Gang attaches to the LightCore to provide the touch-sensitive control surface. The touch panel also contains the antennas used for communication with the Ajax hub, so the panel must be fitted before the switch is added to the Ajax system.

Once assembled, the LightSwitch can operate locally as a regular touch switch without being added to a hub. Connecting it to a compatible Ajax hub enables remote app control, timers and automation scenarios.

Before You Buy

• This product is the LightCore 1-Gang relay core only. A compatible Ajax SoloButton 1-Gang touch panel is required to complete a standalone switch.
• For installation into a standard South African 100 × 50 mm / 4 × 2 wall box, add the IoT 4 × 2 Wall Box Installation Adapter.
• The Ajax LightSwitch uses the European type 55 mounting format and does not fit directly into a standard South African 4 × 2 wall box.
• A compatible Ajax hub is required for remote app control, timers and automation. Current supported hubs include Hub Plus Jeweller, Hub 2 Jeweller, Hub 2 Plus Jeweller and Hub Hybrid.
• This model controls one circuit with on/off switching. It does not provide brightness adjustment.
• The normal supported lighting load is 5–600 W. For a low-power or unstable lighting load, the bundled capacitor may need to be connected in parallel with the lighting appliance.
• Smart lamps with their own brightness or colour control, relay, radio module or microcontroller are not supported.
• The LightCore is rated IP20 and is intended for indoor installation.
• Installation must be carried out by a suitably qualified electrician or installer.
