R999.00 Incl. VAT

The Tiandy TC-P3S010-100 is an 8-port Fast Ethernet PoE switch designed to power IP security cameras and other compatible network devices through their Ethernet cables. It provides eight 10/100Mbps PoE ports, two dedicated 10/100Mbps RJ45 uplink ports and a shared 90W PoE power budget, with selectable operating modes for conventional and extended-distance CCTV installations.

  • 8 PoE ports: 10/100Mbps Ethernet connectivity with IEEE 802.3af/at support, up to 30W per port.
  • 2 uplink ports: Separate 10/100Mbps RJ45 connections for an NVR, router or network infrastructure.
  • 90W total PoE budget: Shared across the eight powered ports.
  • Three operating modes: Default, VLAN isolation and Extend, selected using the onboard DIP switch.
  • Extended transmission: Up to 220m in Extend mode, with affected ports operating at 10Mbps.
  • PoE watchdog: Enabled in VLAN and Extend modes.
  • Port priority: PoE power priority follows ports 1 through 8, with port 1 receiving the highest priority.
  • Electrical protection: 4kV surge protection and ESD protection rated at 8kV air / 6kV contact.
  • Plug-and-play operation: Automatic Ethernet speed negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX.

Important: This Fast Ethernet version has 100Mbps uplinks, not Gigabit uplinks. The combined power requirements of all connected PoE devices must remain within the 90W total budget.

Description

Tiandy TC-P3S010-100 8-Port PoE Switch – 90W

Connecting eight IP cameras to a recorder should not require eight separate power adaptors. The Tiandy TC-P3S010-100 brings network connectivity and Power over Ethernet together in a compact 10-port switching unit, providing eight powered camera connections and two additional RJ45 ports for linking the installation to an NVR or the wider network.

All eight PoE ports support 10/100Mbps Ethernet, while the two uplink ports also operate at 10/100Mbps. This makes the switch suited to Fast Ethernet surveillance installations where Gigabit connectivity is not required. With a 2Gbps switching capacity and 1.488Mpps forwarding performance, the switch handles local network traffic using store-and-forward packet switching.

Power delivery follows the IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at standards, supporting compatible devices requiring up to 15.4W or 30W per port respectively. The important distinction is the switch’s 90W total PoE budget: although an individual port supports up to 30W, the combined power demand of all eight connected devices cannot exceed 90W. Camera power consumption, including infrared illumination and other powered functions, should therefore be considered when planning the installation.

Three Modes for Different CCTV Network Layouts

The TC-P3S010 uses a physical DIP switch to select between three operating arrangements, allowing the installer to change how the ports communicate without complicated network configuration.

  • Default Mode: All ports can communicate normally, with automatic 10/100Mbps speed negotiation. PoE watchdog functionality is disabled.
  • VLAN Mode: PoE ports 1–8 are isolated from one another but can communicate through uplink ports 9 and 10. This provides a straightforward way to separate individual camera connections while retaining access to the upstream network. PoE watchdog functionality is enabled.
  • Extend Mode: PoE ports 1–8 are restricted to 10Mbps to support transmission distances of up to 220m under suitable cabling and connection conditions. PoE watchdog functionality is also enabled.

Extend Mode is particularly useful when camera positions are farther from the switch than a conventional 100m Ethernet installation allows. However, the longer transmission distance comes with reduced network speed, so camera bandwidth requirements and cable quality must be considered before choosing this mode.

Power Priority and Practical Monitoring

Where multiple connected devices compete for the available PoE capacity, the switch follows a defined port-priority sequence: port 1 has the highest priority and port 8 the lowest. This allows an installer to allocate higher-priority connections to cameras that are more important to the installation.

Front-panel indicators provide visibility of power, network link activity and PoE status, making it easier to identify connectivity or power-related issues during installation and maintenance. Automatic MDI/MDIX and adaptive Ethernet negotiation further simplify device connections.

The switch operates from a 100–240V AC supply and uses a 52V / 1.92A power supply specification. Its 200 × 118 × 44mm enclosure provides a compact switching point for a CCTV network cabinet or protected equipment location.

Electrical protection includes a specified 4kV surge protection level and electrostatic discharge protection of 8kV through air and 6kV through contact. These protections improve electrical resilience but do not replace appropriate installation earthing and surge protection where required.

For an eight-camera network that needs straightforward PoE distribution, port isolation and a selectable longer-distance mode, the TC-P3S010 provides the necessary connections without the complexity of a fully managed networking system. Installations requiring Gigabit uplinks should instead use a suitably specified Gigabit switch.
