Hikvision DS-2CFSP8-D/4G – solar-powered 4G monitoring with dual-lens PT coverage

The Hikvision DS-2CFSP8-D/4G is designed for locations where running mains power and network cabling is difficult. Its solar panel, rechargeable battery and 4G LTE connection make it particularly useful for remote entrances, farms, construction areas, infrastructure sites and other locations that need independent surveillance.

Instead of relying on a single moving camera view, the system combines a 2.8 mm fixed channel for broad situational awareness with a separate 4 mm pan-and-tilt channel for closer viewing and person tracking. Each channel records at up to 2560 × 1440 resolution.

Is This Right for You?

This model is a strong option when the surveillance point has useful mobile-network coverage but no convenient Ethernet connection or permanent power supply. The solar-powered design reduces the need for conventional electrical installation, while 4G LTE provides remote connectivity through a suitable mobile data service.

If integration with a particular NVR, ONVIF system or wired network is essential, confirm compatibility before ordering. Hikvision’s current datasheet specifies 4G LTE, Hik-Connect and SDK support, but does not list Ethernet, Wi-Fi or ONVIF for this model.

How It Works

The fixed 2.8 mm channel provides a wide 98.2° horizontal field of view for general scene coverage. Alongside it, the 4 mm PT channel provides a narrower 78.8° horizontal view and can move through a pan range of -170° to 170° and tilt from 0° to 80°. Motion Detection 2.0 can classify people and vehicles, while the PT channel can automatically track detected people.

AOV, or Always-On Video, mode supports continuous 24/7 video recording while the 8 W solar panel and 9000 mAh lithium battery provide the camera’s off-grid power system.

• The current Hikvision specification lists Hik-Connect and SDK support. Wi-Fi, Ethernet and ONVIF are not listed, so confirm any recorder or third-party platform requirements before ordering.
• Solar performance depends on panel positioning, available sunlight and camera activity. Install the solar panel where it can receive suitable daylight.
• The camera supports microSD, microSDHC and microSDXC storage up to 512 GB. The memory card is sold separately.
• The camera power specification is 12 V DC, 1.5 A with a maximum consumption of 18 W; the supplied solar system uses an 8 W panel with a 9000 mAh lithium battery.
