The Duke Pepper Storm Trip Wire Kit is a trip wire–activated personal safety and deterrence system that combines a powerful audible alert with effective pepper powder dispersion. When triggered, the system produces an audible output of approximately ±130 dB while simultaneously dispersing high-performance pepper powder in a full 360-degree pattern, reaching up to approximately 5 metres from the activation point.

The pepper formulation offers significant hang-time, allowing the active agent to remain suspended in the air for longer, increasing its effectiveness across the surrounding area. This makes the system suitable for perimeter awareness, access control points, and controlled safety applications.

The kit operates on a non-pyrotechnical, non-lethal design and forms part of the Duke reusable core system. A free Pepper Storm refill kit is included, allowing the device to be reset and reused after deployment rather than replaced entirely.

Difference Between the Duke Pepper Storm and the Pepper Storm Trip Wire Kit

Although both products use the same Pepper Storm device, they are activated in different ways and are designed for different defensive applications.

Duke Pepper Storm Kit – Hand-Deployed

  • The safety ring is pulled out and the top of the device is slammed to activate it.
  • After activation, the device triggers within approximately 3–5 seconds, releasing a powerful audible output (±130 dB) together with 360-degree pepper powder dispersion around the activation point.
  • The pepper formulation provides extended hang-time, allowing the active agent to remain suspended in the air and affect the surrounding area.
  • This kit is intended to be thrown toward a threat, making it suitable for personal defence, area denial, or controlled deployment where manual activation is preferred.

Duke Pepper Storm Trip Wire Kit – Static Area Defence

  • This version does not require slamming or manual throwing.
  • It includes a trip wire cord and mounting clips for fixed installation.
  • When the trip wire cord is pulled, the device is triggered immediately, releasing both the audible output and pepper dispersion at the point of activation.
  • Designed for securing entrances, gates, pathways, corridors, or perimeter points where an intruder may pass, providing hands-free, automatic area protection.
