Description
Zartek ZA-PT3-NFC PTT over Cellular Radio with NFC Patrol Tagging and Multi-Platform Support
The Zartek ZA-PT3-NFC combines the wide-area communication capabilities of the ZA-PT3 platform with NFC tagging for teams that also need to verify visits to specific physical checkpoints. It communicates through 4G/LTE mobile data or Wi-Fi using a configured PTT server platform rather than relying on the direct radio-to-radio range of a conventional two-way radio.
It is particularly well suited to security, construction, logistics, transport, facilities management and other field operations where teams need group or individual communication, GPS positioning and the ability to incorporate physical patrol or inspection checkpoints into their workflow.
Choose the Right Option
The ZA-PT3-NFC supports a choice of compatible PTT platforms, so the radio and required service should be selected together.
- ZartekPTT: suitable when you want the ZartekPTT communication platform. A ZA-PLA platform activation is required for each ZA-PT3-NFC using this platform, with ZA-DIS available when a cloud dispatcher login is required.
- REALPTT: an alternative platform with annual service options and support for NFC and GPS patrol-management functions.
- Other supported platforms: the ZA-PT3 family can be configured for other compatible server platforms where required.
Platform functions, subscriptions and dispatcher capabilities differ, so choose the platform according to the communication, GPS, patrol and control-room features your organisation requires.
Is This Right for You?
Choose the ZA-PT3-NFC when you need the wide-area PoC communication, GPS and dispatcher capabilities of the ZA-PT3 together with NFC checkpoint tagging.
- Security guard patrols and perimeter checks
- Facilities and building inspections
- Warehouses, factories and industrial sites
- Equipment and infrastructure inspections
- Construction and logistics operations
- Transport and distributed field teams
If NFC checkpoint verification is not required, the standard ZA-PT3 provides the core PoC communication, GPS and multi-platform capabilities without the NFC tagging function.

How It Works
The ZA-PT3-NFC connects to the internet through a mobile-data SIM or Wi-Fi. Voice communication is carried through the selected PTT server platform rather than directly between radios over conventional radio frequencies.
Once the radios have been configured, users can communicate within selected groups or make individual calls. Compatible dispatcher software or applications can add central communication and monitoring functions such as radio GPS positions, historical location information and audio recordings.
A dispatcher map can therefore show where supported radios are located and their recorded movement history. This should not be confused with a cellular coverage map; communication depends on the mobile-data or Wi-Fi connection available to each radio.

The ZA-PT3-NFC adds NFC checkpoint tagging to this system. Registered NFC tags can be installed at locations that must be physically visited, such as gates, guardhouses, storerooms, plant rooms, equipment stations or perimeter checkpoints.
- The NFC tag is registered as a specific checkpoint within a compatible patrol platform.
- The user visits the checkpoint with the ZA-PT3-NFC and brings the radio close to the registered tag.
- The radio reads the NFC tag and the compatible patrol system records the checkpoint interaction.
- Patrol or inspection activity can then be reviewed according to the functions available through the configured platform.
GPS and NFC serve different but complementary purposes. GPS can show the radio’s location and movement history on a compatible dispatcher map, while an NFC scan confirms a close-range interaction with a particular registered physical checkpoint.
An NFC checkpoint tag is not a GPS tracker and does not independently report its location. It acts as an electronic identifier that the ZA-PT3-NFC reads when the user is physically at the checkpoint.
Why Choose This Product?
- Wide-area PTT communication: use 4G/LTE or Wi-Fi to communicate between users across different sites without being limited to conventional direct radio range.
- NFC checkpoint tagging: incorporate registered physical checkpoints into compatible patrol and inspection workflows.
- GPS positioning: supports location-based team management and compatible dispatcher functions.
- Group and individual calls: communicate with an assigned team or individual users through the configured platform.
- Dispatcher connectivity: compatible dispatcher options allow supervisors or control rooms to communicate with and manage field users.
- SOS support: provides an emergency alert function when correctly configured within the selected system.
- Multi-platform flexibility: choose between ZartekPTT, REALPTT or another supported platform according to the required application and service model.
- Field-ready power: the 4400 mAh Li-ion battery combines with USB-C charging for convenient everyday use.
- Colour interface: the 1.77-inch colour screen and Android operating system provide a practical interface for supported radio and platform functions.
Before You Buy
- A PTT platform and user account are required. The radio must be configured and assigned to a compatible server platform before PoC communication can be used.
- Cellular use requires a data SIM and active data service. The radio has one SIM slot. Wi-Fi can be used where a suitable Wi-Fi connection is available.
- Coverage depends on the network connection. Mobile communication is subject to the coverage and availability of the selected cellular network; Wi-Fi operation depends on the connected Wi-Fi network.
- NFC checkpoint tags are sold separately. Add Zartek NFC-TAG units according to the number of physical checkpoints required.
- NFC patrol functionality requires a compatible configured platform. Checkpoint registration, patrol routes, users, schedules and records are managed through the selected patrol system.
- Use the dedicated NFC-compatible replacement battery. The standard GE-200 ZA-PT3 battery is not compatible with the ZA-PT3-NFC. Use the dedicated BATT28 4400 mAh NFC-compatible battery when a replacement or spare is required.
- The Zartek GE-201 desktop charging stand is compatible and is available separately for convenient desktop charging.
