Zartek RX-8 Twin Pack Rechargeable Two-Way Radios for Everyday Communication
The Zartek RX-8 Twin Pack provides two small, lightweight UHF radios for convenient communication around campsites, outdoor events, neighbourhood activities and other situations where mobile-phone calls are unnecessary or impractical.
Unlike the RX-8 Basic Pack, this Twin Pack is supplied with rechargeable AA NiMH batteries, a mains USB adaptor and a dual-pin charging cable, giving you a ready-to-recharge two-radio setup.
Is This Right for You?
The RX-8 is well suited to customers who want simple licence-free radio communication in a compact format. Typical uses include camping, hiking groups, events, family outings, hospitality and general communication around a property or workplace.
Radio range depends heavily on buildings, vegetation, terrain, elevation and other obstructions. The longest quoted range applies to favourable elevated line-of-sight conditions and should not be expected in normal built-up environments.

Each RX-8 uses 3 × AA batteries. This Twin Pack includes 6 × 1000 mAh NiMH rechargeable batteries and supports in-radio charging through the 5 V DC charging input using the supplied charging equipment.
Zartek states a charge time of approximately 3 hours for the RX-8 Twin Pack.
The optional Zartek GE-228 earphone with in-line PTT microphone is specifically listed for the RX-8. When using the GE-228, transmission is push-to-talk only; VOX is not supported through this headset.
Manufacturer range figures are terrain dependent. Zartek states approximately 300–500 m in built-up or forest environments, 1–4 km in open outdoor areas and 5–10 km with elevated line of sight.
