Monitoring a driveway, entrance or outdoor area often means choosing between a fixed camera that watches one direction and a motorised camera that can follow activity. The Tiandy TC-H333N offers the flexibility of pan-and-tilt surveillance in a weather-resistant Wi-Fi camera, with 3MP recording, automatic tracking and separate infrared and white-light illumination.

Its 1/2.9-inch CMOS sensor captures video at 2304 × 1296 resolution and up to 20 frames per second. The fixed 4mm F1.6 lens provides an 81.6° horizontal field of view, giving a useful balance between viewing width and subject detail. Rather than relying on a very wide fixed lens, the camera can turn through 294° horizontally and tilt through 90° vertically to examine different parts of the monitored area.

Motorised movement operates at up to 30° per second for panning and 25° per second for tilting. The camera also supports automatic tracking and up to 255 presets, allowing viewing positions to be stored for convenient access. Its motorised movement expands the area that can be examined, although only the direction currently facing the lens is recorded at any one time.

Infrared reach and colour imaging after dark

The TC-H333N uses two forms of illumination to handle changing lighting conditions. Six infrared LEDs provide night illumination at distances of up to 50m, allowing black-and-white monitoring when visible light is insufficient. Smart IR and an automatic infrared-cut filter help the camera adjust between daytime and night-time operation.

For situations where visible colour information is useful, six integrated white LEDs provide illumination at distances of up to 15m. This is particularly valuable when distinguishing clothing, vehicles or other coloured details near the camera. The 50m infrared and 15m white-light figures describe different lighting capabilities and should not be treated as equivalent colour night-vision distances.

Digital wide dynamic range, backlight compensation, highlight compensation and 3D digital noise reduction help manage challenging exposure conditions. Actual image detail and illumination reach will depend on the scene, weather and available light.

Remote viewing, communication and recording

The camera connects to a compatible 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and supports remote access through Tiandy’s EasyLive Plus mobile application. A 10/100Mbps Ethernet port provides an alternative wired network connection, while Easy7 VMS is supported for computer-based monitoring.

A built-in microphone and speaker allow two-way communication through supported client software. The camera also provides smart alarm functions, automatic tracking and configurable event responses, including sound activation, white-light activation, recording and image capture.

For local video storage, the TC-H333N supports microSD, microSDHC and microSDXC cards with capacities up to 512GB. Its S+265 and H.265 compression options help manage recording bandwidth and storage requirements. A compatible memory card is purchased separately.

ONVIF Profiles S and T and RTSP are supported for integration with suitable network video systems. Compatibility with a particular NVR and the availability of advanced camera functions depend on the recorder and its implementation.

Outdoor installation and power requirements

The TC-H333N has an IP66-rated plastic housing suitable for appropriately installed outdoor surveillance applications. Its published operating temperature range is -30°C to +60°C, with operating humidity up to 95% RH.

Although video can travel over Wi-Fi, the camera requires a continuous 12V DC power connection and consumes a maximum of 12W. Installation therefore needs a suitable power supply and reliable 2.4GHz Wi-Fi coverage at the mounting position, or an Ethernet connection where preferred.

With a compact body measuring 138 × 112 × 173mm, the TC-H333N combines motorised viewing, dual night illumination, two-way audio and local recording in a single outdoor camera. It is particularly useful where the monitored area benefits from adjustable viewing direction rather than a permanently fixed camera angle.
