Imou PoE Outdoor Bullet Camera (3MP)

Description

Imou IPC-PS3DP-3M0 – PS3D 3MP PoE Outdoor Bullet Camera

The Imou PS3D combines the simplicity of an app-managed security camera with the reliability of a wired network connection. Designed for permanently mounted outdoor surveillance, the IPC-PS3DP-3M0 provides 3MP video, intelligent human and vehicle detection, and flexible recording options without relying on a Wi-Fi signal.

Its Power over Ethernet capability is particularly useful when installing cameras around a building. With a suitable PoE network connection, the same Ethernet cable carries both network data and electrical power, reducing the number of cables and power points needed at the camera.

Clearer Detail with Intelligent Detection

The PS3D captures video at 2304 × 1296 resolution using a 1/3-inch progressive-scan CMOS sensor. The 2.8mm F1.6 fixed lens provides a wide 96° horizontal field of view, making it suitable for covering entrances, driveways and general outdoor areas where a broad view is more useful than a narrow, long-distance image.

Imou’s SENSE detection technology distinguishes between human movement, vehicles and ordinary motion. Instead of relying exclusively on changes within the picture, the camera can identify relevant activity and deliver targeted notifications through the Imou Life app.

The camera also supports H.265 video compression, helping reduce recording storage requirements compared with older H.264 encoding while retaining the option of H.264 for supported recording systems.

Four Night Vision Modes with a Built-in Spotlight

Outdoor security does not end when daylight disappears. The PS3D supports four selectable night vision modes and a manufacturer-rated night vision distance of up to 30 metres.

Depending on the selected mode and available lighting, the camera can use infrared night vision for monochrome images or its integrated spotlight to provide colour footage after dark. The spotlight also provides a visible indication of camera activity.

A built-in microphone captures sound alongside video, adding useful context when reviewing a recording. The PS3D is designed for audio capture rather than two-way voice communication.

Recording That Makes Better Use of Storage

The PS3D offers several ways to retain footage. A built-in MicroSD card slot accepts cards up to 512GB for local recording, while supported network video recorders and Imou cloud storage provide alternative recording arrangements.

Its Always-On Recording (AOR) mode is designed to use storage more efficiently during periods without significant events, while retaining more detailed footage when relevant activity occurs. This provides an alternative to conventional continuous recording, particularly where local storage capacity matters.

The camera supports ONVIF and can be incorporated into compatible network recording systems. Alternatively, the Imou Life app allows live viewing, notifications and supported recording management from a smartphone.

Wired Installation and Outdoor Durability

The camera connects through a 100Mbps Ethernet port and supports either PoE or an external 12V DC 1A power supply. A PoE-enabled NVR, network switch or suitable injector can provide power through the Ethernet cable. Where PoE is not available, a separate compatible 12V DC power adaptor is required.

Its compact bullet housing measures 147.7 × 74.2 × 74.2mm and weighs approximately 220g. The adjustable mounting arrangement allows the camera to be aimed towards the required surveillance area during installation.

The IP67 environmental rating provides protection against dust and water ingress, while the specified -30°C to +60°C operating temperature range makes the PS3D suitable for a wide range of outdoor conditions. Installers should ensure that outdoor cable connections are correctly sealed and protected.
