Monitoring a large outdoor area normally means choosing between a fixed camera that keeps watch over one position and a moving camera that can follow activity elsewhere. The Imou AOV Dual brings both capabilities into one battery-powered unit, combining two independent 5MP cameras with Always-on Video (AOV) recording, 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity, and an included 8W solar panel.

The upper fixed camera provides a consistent view of your chosen monitoring area, while the lower motorised camera can move independently to investigate activity. Each camera uses a 3.6mm lens and records at up to 2880 × 1620 resolution. Together, they provide dual 5MP surveillance views, marketed as 10MP combined resolution, rather than a single stitched 10MP image.

The fixed camera provides a 76° horizontal field of view, while the motorised camera offers 340° pan and 90° tilt movement. Automatic tracking can follow detected movement, allowing the system to monitor activity beyond the fixed viewing direction. This combination is particularly useful for monitoring entrances, driveways, yards and other outdoor spaces where one stationary view would be restrictive.

Always-on Video Recording Without Conventional Continuous Power Consumption

Conventional battery cameras generally conserve power by remaining in standby until movement triggers a recording. The AOV Dual takes a different approach, maintaining a low-power recording sequence even when no event has been detected.

During quiet periods, AOV records one frame every 3 seconds. When an event is detected, the camera switches to full-frame video recording, at up to 15 frames per second. This creates a more complete record of activity throughout the day without requiring the battery to sustain conventional full-frame video recording continuously.

Imou’s intelligent human and vehicle detection helps identify relevant movement, while configurable detection regions allow you to concentrate monitoring on selected areas. Detection notifications and recorded footage can be accessed through the Imou Life mobile application.

The camera also offers up to 25m infrared night vision, with adjustable night-vision modes. Smart full-colour night vision can activate when a person is detected, using the camera’s built-in lighting. For additional deterrence, the camera includes spotlights, red and blue warning lights and a siren rated up to 110dB. A built-in microphone and speaker enable two-way communication through the app.

Solar Power and Flexible 4G or Wi-Fi Connectivity

The supplied Imou FSP008 8W solar panel works with the camera’s integrated 10,000mAh rechargeable battery to reduce dependence on external mains power. The panel includes a 4m connection cable, allowing it to be positioned separately from the camera for better exposure to sunlight.

For reliable solar charging, the panel should be installed where it receives suitable direct sunlight rather than being shaded by roofs, walls or trees. Battery endurance will vary with sunlight, recording activity, network conditions, live viewing and camera settings. The camera also supports DC 5V/2A charging.

Network connectivity is available through 2.4GHz Wi-Fi or 4G LTE. Wi-Fi is suitable where an existing wireless network reaches the installation point, while 4G allows the camera to operate using a compatible cellular data connection. For 4G operation, a compatible SIM card, activated mobile data service and suitable network coverage are required. Cellular data consumption depends on recording activity, live viewing and video playback.

The camera is rated IP66 for outdoor weather resistance and operates at temperatures from -20°C to +50°C. Battery charging is supported from -15°C to +45°C.

For local recording, the camera supports MicroSD cards up to 512GB, using H.265 or H.264 video compression. This particular 10M0T2 package is the no-card version, so the MicroSD card and cellular SIM must be purchased separately.
