IMOU Ranger RC Indoor Wi-Fi Pan & Tilt Camera with One-Touch Call (4MP)

Description

IMOU IPC-GK2CP-4C0WR Ranger RC 4MP Indoor Wi-Fi Camera

The IMOU Ranger RC 4MP is designed for more than simply watching a room. Its combination of motorised pan and tilt movement, intelligent motion tracking and a dedicated one-touch call button makes it a practical indoor monitoring and communication camera for homes where family members may want to stay connected throughout the day.

Unlike a fixed-position camera, the Ranger RC can turn through 355° horizontally and tilt between -10° and 70° vertically. Its 3.6mm lens provides an 88° diagonal viewing angle, while the motorised movement allows different parts of a room to be viewed from the IMOU Life app. This is particularly useful when checking multiple areas without installing several cameras.

The 4MP CMOS sensor captures video at 2560 × 1440 resolution, providing considerably more image detail than a conventional 1080p camera. H.265 video compression helps reduce storage and bandwidth requirements while maintaining high-definition recording.

One-Touch Calling and Intelligent Monitoring

One of the Ranger RC’s most useful features is its dedicated call button. Someone at home can press the button on the camera to initiate a call to the connected IMOU Life app. This offers a convenient way for children, elderly family members or other household members to contact someone without first locating or operating a smartphone.

The camera has a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way communication, allowing conversations between the person near the camera and the person using the app. The calling function requires a working network connection.

For monitoring, the Ranger RC combines several detection functions:

• Human detection identifies people in the camera image and provides notifications.
• Smart tracking automatically moves the camera to follow detected motion within its movement range.
• Abnormal sound detection can alert users to unusually loud sounds, such as crying or breaking objects.
• Configurable detection regions allow monitoring to be focused on selected areas of the image.
• Built-in siren provides an audible deterrent when alarm events are triggered.

When lighting is poor, the camera uses infrared night vision with a specified range of up to 10 metres. This allows it to monitor indoor areas at night without requiring the room lights to remain switched on.

Privacy, Recording and Everyday Operation

The Ranger RC includes a physical privacy feature rather than relying solely on disabling video recording through software. Activating Privacy Mode in the IMOU Life app moves the camera lens into a concealed position behind its privacy shield, providing a visible indication that the lens is hidden.

The camera connects through a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and is managed using the IMOU Life app on compatible Android and iOS devices. Users can view live video, receive event notifications, operate the pan and tilt functions and communicate through the camera remotely when the required internet connections are available.

For local recording, the camera accepts a MicroSD memory card up to 256GB. It also supports ONVIF for integration with suitable network recording systems, while IMOU Protect cloud recording is available as an optional subscription service.

The Ranger RC is intended for indoor use and requires continuous power from its supplied DC 5V/1A adaptor. Position the camera where it has a clear view of the intended monitoring area, access to a power socket and a reliable 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal.
